Import Accounts and Contacts From CSV
Bring existing company and contact lists into Vuuli with CSV upload, column mapping, preview, and import results.
Use CSV import when your accounts or contacts already exist in a spreadsheet.
Before You Import
Prepare one file for accounts or contacts. Keep each row as one record, and make sure the file has consistent columns.
Vuuli supports common CSV delimiters:
- Comma:
, - Semicolon:
; - Tab
If the first row contains labels such as Company Name, Email, or Phone, keep it as a header row. You can skip the header row during mapping.
1. Open Import
Open Accounts or Contacts, then choose Import.
Vuuli opens CSV Import for the selected mode: accounts or contacts.
2. Upload the File
Drop the CSV file into the uploader or click to browse. If needed, use the sample CSV link in the import dialog to see the expected format.
After upload, choose the delimiter that matches your file.
3. Map Columns
In Step 2: Map Columns, match each CSV column to a CRM field.
Vuuli marks columns as:
- Recognized when the field was automatically mapped.
- Need mapping when you must choose a field.
- Skipped when the column will not be imported.
Use Do not import for columns that should stay out of Vuuli.
4. Map Custom Fields
If the file contains fields that are specific to your team, create matching custom attributes first in Settings > Custom attributes.
Custom attributes can be created for account and contact records. Supported attribute types include text, number, date, boolean, single select, and multi select.
During import, map those CSV columns under Custom attributes.
5. Preview and Import
Use the preview to check that rows look correct before importing. Then choose Import Contacts or Import Accounts.
After import, Vuuli shows an import result with total records, successful imports, and row-level errors.
Troubleshooting
If fields do not map correctly, check whether the CSV header names are clear. If rows fail, review the row error details and fix those rows in the CSV before importing again.
If you imported companies from the Company Registry, Vuuli can also add them to an account segment during that import flow.
